Laura and Michael had been extremely busy as of late, but when an old friend of Laura's called and said she was sick, she couldn't help but go. Michael made sure she was ready to go and told her to call when she got to her friend's house, which she said she would. Laura got on the plane and flew to Derry, Main. Once there, Laura got a cab into town. As the driver was taking her to the town of Derry, Laura couldn't help but think about Michael and how much she missed him. Once the driver reached Derry, Laura had him pull over at the Public Library, which from there was a 5-minute walk to her friend's house. That's when she saw the red balloon floating by her and she couldn't help but drop her suitcase. She didn't know how it was floating effortlessly and steady, even though it was completely full of air.

And then voice came, which caused her to shiver as she looked around for the voice. It was then as she was looking down at the crate, she saw two fingers around the grate bars. She wanted to go closer to investigate but thought better of it. Finally, after a few minutes, Laura finally found her voice and began to speak to the voice. "Don't worry, I can take care of myself. My husband gave me stuff to protect myself with," she told him as she went on, this time with a quizzical expression in her voice. "Float? Does it look like I'm floating?" she asked him as she continued to stare at the two fingers. She could tell they weren't human, but she didn't know exactly what would have long fingers like that. "Who or what are you? Do you float?" she asked him.
