Rick looked at Jennie and just shook his head. "Great, I'll just retire now because I'm rich in siblings, one who's in love with herself and the other one who was almost executed," Rick said a chuckle and then went on with her playful tone. "That's sure to get me on the cover of People Magazine," he added as he took a drink his of his coffee. Then he got serious when he started talking about his son, Carl. "I can't help but be overprotective, even if it does bring out my soft side," he said in his serious voice and the paused for a few minutes as he felt Jennie touch his arm. He placed a hand over hers and finally went on speaking. "And I wouldn't want to trade it for anything in the world," he said as he took her hand and brought it up to his mouth and softly kissed it.

Rick smiled as he listened to everything she was planning on doing. Once she was done speaking, he went on to speak to her. "Sounds like you have a great day planned," he said with a smile on his face, especially when she said she would stay away from downtown. "See that you do," Rick said. "I don't know what they are doing at that lab, but I have a feeling it's not good," he said as he drank the rest of his coffee and then got up and kissed the top of her head. "I'll go shower now, since you insisted that I do," he said with a smirk and then headed towards the stairs. He stopped and turned back to his sister. "I love you too sis, and don't worry, I won't," he said and then went on speaking again. "And I can't wait to see what you are planning for supper," he added and then disappeared upstairs to take a shower before work.

Rick smiled and placed his hand ove hers. "Right....family always first," he said with a chuckle. "And I will definately be suer to let you know if those dearm comes back," Rick said with a smile as he  went on speaking. "How did I ever get so lucky to have a sister and a weird brother like you and Dex?" he asked retorichally. Then he took a few more drinks of his coffee as silence sat in between them.

He knew she was right about everyrthing. Carl would adjust just fine and he should be proud to be gay, not ashamed. Afterr about 10 minutes or so of not saying anything to each other, Rick finaly broke the silence.  "So, got any plans for today?" he asked Jennie with a smile on his face. He was keeping an eye on the time so that he could have some time to go see Dexter befoe he had to eally go to work.

Rick didn't know if Jennie had to work that day or had the day off. Either way, he wanted her to stay safe, at least until he could figure out what was going on in town. There was a lab downtown that has some weird thigns going on and he knew he would have to eventually go and investagate, but not before finding some help. But he shrugged that off for another time, when Jennie wasn't around. 

"If you are going out, remembe to take you guy and to make sure you don't hang around town long," he told his sister. "I don't know what's going on downtown at that new science lab that they put in, but from what I'm seeing, it's not good," he said. Then he got really serioius. "And whatever you do, please stay away from there. I don't want you mixed up and something bad happened to you," he said.  "Well, I guess I better get a shower so that I and go see Dex and then go to work," Rick said as he downed his coffee before getting up from the table. 

"Thank sis," he said as he sat down next to his sister and soon began to sip the hot and refreshing coffee she had just made. He was thinking about what she had said and the question she had just asked. He took a few more drinks of his coffee, letting the hot liquid flow down his throat and warm up everything it touched before he finally began to speak. 

"This is great coffee," he told her still trying to figure out how to answer her question. "And sorry about all the yelling," he said. "Had a rough night sleeping. Those weird dreams I have been having are back again as he finally got around to answering her question. "But in general," he added as he was finished up answering her question, which surprised him that he was even answering it.

"It's just everything. Carl is having trouble in school because of the divorce," he picked up his coffee cup again. "And then having to deal with the fact that I'm gay on top if it," he said and then finally took a long drink of his coffee. Then he placed the cup down and reached over and took his sister's hands in his. "At least I have you and Dexter to keep me sane," he said with a smile.

Rick had been staying at his sister's house ever since him and Lori seperated. And now he had to go to work, which he didn't feel like doing, but he had child support to pay and anything else that Lori wanted, since right now she didn't have a job. Anyway, Rick laid in bed for several more minutes while his alarm continued to ring annoyingly. Then with a heavy sigh, Rick finally turned his alarm off and then sat up on the side of his bed. 

As he sat there for a few moments, he couldn't help but think about how his life was so messed up. Then with a sigh, Rick reached over and put his robe on and headed downstairs, he knew that his sister Jennie would already be up and making coffee. After he reached the bottom, he began to shout for her. "Jen!! Hey Jennie! You up?" he asked as he looked around to see if she was in the living room before going to the kitchen.
