Forever Begins with the Cartwright Wedding and Celebrations and Ends with Happily Ever After
from Eric_Cartwright on 04/14/2026 07:35 AMIt had been two years since Eric Cartwright had left Nevada and the Ponderosa, and right now, he doesn't regret his decision. Of course, he missed his family and wished that they could be there on the most important day of his life, but he was sort of glad too, which he knew was the worst thing he could think about his family, but after everything he has been through, he just couldn't bring himself to miss them too much, especially Adam. Anyway, Eric was in his bed sleeping soundly when the sun rays came in and began to shine on his face. At first, Eric didn't want to get up and so he rolled over to face away from the window when it suddenly hit him on what day it was, which caused a huge smile to come over his face as he rolled back to his back as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and then opened them. He laid there for a few more minutes before finally crawling out of bed. Eric went over to the window and smiled as the sun began to shine even brighter than when it woke him up and that was because today was a very special day. It was his and Lara Schaffer's wedding and he couldn't be happier. Eric looked over at the clock and knew he still had several hours before meeting the love of his life at the church in which they were to be joined together in wedded bliss, though he still had a couple of things he had to get done before his wedding. So, Eric finally left the window and went over and got himself dressed. Since Lara was staying in town with some friends, Eric had the house to himself, at least for several more hours at least. Once Eric was dressed, he grabbed his keys, wallet and cell phone, and was soon out the front door, only stopping long enough to lock the front door. Once that was done, Eric went and got into his truck and was soon on his way to town, humming a happy tune.
As Eric drove to town, he couldn't help but wonder what Lara was doing. He knew she wanted to get her hair and make-up done sometime this morning, though he wasn't sure when. But that gave him the idea to go get himself a trim and a shave, which was the second thing he was going to do after he got some breakfast. As Eric continued to drive to town, getting a bit closer with every mile, he tried to imagine what Lara looked like in her wedding gown, but that was hard to do since he didn't know the style she had gotten. Eric couldn't help but think that Lara really was wanting to make everything a surprise, which deep down he loved. This gave him time to get a few surprises of his own, which made him smile even bigger as he thought about the couple of surprises that he was planning, starting with the romantic gift that he wanted to get for his beloved for their wedding night. And the second surprise he had was for their honeymoon. He knew that she wanted to go somewhere tropical and it took him a long time to save up, but he finally got the money to take Lara to the Bahamas for their honeymoon, which almost didn't happen since Lara was planning on going somewhere else. Thank God he was able to talk her out of it before he blew all his money. Anyway, Eric finally reached town and went to McDonalds for breakfast. After Eric finished his breakfast, he went to the barber shop, which he did have to wait for about an hour and half just to get a trim and a shave. As he was waiting for his turn in the barber chair, he picked up a magazine and began to flip through it though he couldn't keep his mind on what he was looking at. His mind kept wondering back to his wedding and seeing Lara walk down the isle with a huge smile on her face, as he stood there watching nervously with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes.
A Valentine’s Day Tale of an Endless Cartwright Love (2026)
from Eric_Cartwright on 04/14/2026 04:46 AMIt was a week before Valentine's Day and there was so much planning to do. Eric knew he wanted to make this Valentine's Day something that Lara would always remember. But first he needed to see how much they had in the bank, which if they had enough money, then he could go ahead with planning out what he wanted to do. But if they didn't have enough money, then he knew he would have to borrow it from his boss or go to a loan place, either way, Eric was going to make Valentine's Day extra special for his beloved it. And he knew he couldn't forget his little princess, Erica, either, because he was planning something special for her too. So, on his way to work, Eric dropped by the bank to check on his and Lara's account. So, Eric parked his truck and shut the engine off, he got out and went inside. Eric was in there for about ten minutes before he got the results he was hoping for. So, after leaving the bank and got back into his truck, he started his truck and was soon pulling out of the parking lot and turned onto the highway and headed straight for his work. As he was driving happily, he began to think about his plans and what he wanted to do for his special girls, starting with Erica. He knew that she was too young for anything in the food department, but what he was planning on doing for his little princess was getting her a couple of new outfits and a couple of stuffed animals.
After settling on his plans for Erica, his attention turned to his beloved Lara. He knew right off the bat that he wanted to get Lara some new jewelry, maybe a bracelet or some earrings or something romantic like that. Then he wanted to get her a new dress with matching shoes, which he knew she had been needing for very long time. Once he had surprised her with all of that, he would then take her to the most romantic restaurant in town for some dinner and dancing. And then the last thing, he would take her to the nearest beach and walk hand in hand on the beach in the moonlight, which in the back of his mind, he hoped would lead to them making love on the beach just before he took them both home to be with their little princess. As Eric thought about all of that and knew that Lara would just absolutely love it, a huge smile came to his face as he continued to drive to work. He was just about to work, when a thought popped into his head that made him frown. Eric hadn't considered the fact that Lara might be planning something romantic and special for him. Even though he knew she probably wanted to make Valentine's Day for him, he still couldn't help but frown a little. He knew if she used what money they had, there wouldn't be enough money for him to do what he wanted to know. But what Eric didn't know was that Lara had already taken the money she needed out, so he was free to use what was left in their account. Finally, Eric got to work and after parking his truck and shutting down the engine, he took his stuff and went inside to clock in and head to work. As he began to work, he couldn't help but think of ways that he could find out if Lara needed the money without coming right out and saying what he needed the money for.
Under Irish Skies, Two Hearts Unite with a Clover-Kiss Forever (2026)
from Eric_Cartwright on 04/14/2026 03:29 AMEric Cartwright finally had a day off from work, though it just happened to be a few days before St Patrick's Day, which didn't bother him much because he knew he had too much to do. Adam had finally come through for him and was going to send him the money so that Eric, Lara and Erica could go back to the Ponderosa. Eric knew there had to be a catch somewhere, which he would deal with later, but for now, he will just thank his lucky stars that Adam agreed to help them out. Anyway, Lara was putting Erica down for her nap, while Eric was downstairs trying to decide what to pack and what to leave behind. Both Lara and Eric had decided that they would only take what was really necessary for the time being and would later on, once they were settled on the Ponderosa and had the money, to come back and get the rest of their things. Eric decided that his and Lara's bed could wait, since he had his old room back at the main ranch house that they could stay at and of course, Adam even might let them stay with him and Laura too, which again, Eric thought there was a catch but he would worry about all that later. He knew that he and Lara would have to take at least Erica's bassinet for her to sleep in, as well as her car seat for her to sit in. So, while he was still thinking about what should be packed, he decided to start packing Erica's clothes in the suitcase that was saved just for Erica's clothes and the toys that would fit inside the suitcase.
So, Eric decided that while he was packing her things, he would turn the TV on, just to have some background noise. Though Eric made sure to keep it down so that his little princess could take her nap and rest peacefully. After getting the tv turned on and finding something to watch, he put the remote down and grabbed Erica's suitcase. After opening and laying it open on his and Lara's bed and then walked over to the dresser that they were using for Erica's clothes and opened the top drawer and began to get the clothes out and place them in the suitcase. Eric did this for the next two drawers until a commercial caught his eye and he had to stop and watch it, and as it was playing it was starting to give Eric ideas. The commercial was an ad for the Little Miss Emerald Princess pageant and Eric just had to sit down and watch it all the way through, even memorizing the address to which parents could sign their daughters up. After the commercial, Eric went into the kitchen and found a piece of paper and a pen and wrote down the sign-up address before he forgot it. And since the pageant didn't take place until St Patrick's Day and they weren't leaving until mid-spring or early summer. Once he had the address written down, he put it up on the fridge so that he would see it and be reminded to talk to Lara about it when she came back into the living room. For now, though, Eric went back to packing Erica's clothes from the rest of the drawers of the dresser. And once that was done, he began to pick up the toys that would fit in the suitcase since there was still plenty of room for them.
A Christmas Snowfall Over the Cartwright Ranch and Cartwright Hearts (2025)
from Eric_Cartwright on 04/14/2026 01:52 AMThis was Erica's first Christmas and both Lara and Hoss wanted to make it a special one, so while Erica was down for the night, Lara and Hoss went quietly into the kitchen to speak, hoping not to wake her up. Hoss pulled the chair out for Lara and she soon sat down. After Lara sat down, Hoss went over and looked in on Erica, who was still sleeping, and then he walked back over to the table and sat down next to Lara. He had a huge smile on his face. "She's sleeping so soundly and so peacefully," he said not only with a warm smile on his face but in a low whisper so that only Lara could hear him. Then he went on speaking to her as he kicked off the discussion of Christmas as he walked back over to his chair. He reached out and took Lara's hand into his as he went on with his thoughts. "So, here's what I was thinking," Hoss trying to keep his voice nice and low but not doing such a hot job. But he knew that Lara knew he was excited and now that Erica was born, he was excited. Then he went on explaining what he had been thinking for the past few days. "I was thinking that since the weather is going to be okay tomorrow, though we will still have to bundle up Erica," he told his wife. "But anyway, you, me and little princess go out and get the tree tomorrow and then head to the mall to get a few new decorations in honor of our little princess," he said looking Erica's way and then back at Lara.
"So, what do you think?" he asked her, not even trying to hide his excitement anymore. He knew that she could see the excitement in his eyes as he watched with silence while she thought it over. He could see she was really thinking hard, so he to sweeten the deal with something he knew she couldn't resist. "And before you answer," Eric said as his smile was still on his face. "I was also thinking that we could get something to eat at the food court, which I know the mall has your favorite restaurant in it," he told her, which at the mention of that brought a smile to Lara's face as he continued with his train of thought. "Then after dinner we can take Erica to her regular baby-sitter, pending on if she's busy or not," he told Lara and then pause as he thought about his next words carefully. Once he had the rest of his thoughts gathered, Eric was ready to speak once more. "I was thinking that if Erica's baby-sitter wasn't busy tomorrow night, that she could watch Erica while we take in a moving and maybe some romantic dancing," he told her as the smile never left his face but advanced into a huge grin. When Eric finally finished his thoughts, he sat there holding Lara's hand gently as he waited for her to respond to everything, he had just said. He knew in the back of his head that she would probably bring up their money problems, but that didn't bother him much. He knew they didn't have much but they had some money for them to spend on Christmas and on a romantic night for themselves.
Re: Little House Brings Lots of Love
from Eric_Cartwright on 04/14/2026 01:15 AMEric put his cell phone in the seat beside him as he came up to the first red light as he was heading towards the toy store to pick out something special for his princess. He sat there for a few minutes humming very happily as he watched the light go from red to green, which meant that it was his turn to go. After taking his turn and going through the green light, Eric began to look at the different stores that he was driving by to the toy store, which he came to a store that was made for babies and toddlers. Though it wasn't the toy store he had in mind, he decided to give it a look anyway. So, Eric parked in front of the store, which was a lucky break since most of the time he would have to park around the corner, if he was lucky enough. After Eric parked his truck and shut down the engine and once that was done, he got out, taking his cell phone and keys with him. He walked into the store, leaving his truck unlocked, though he knew he probably should have but it was too late now as he was already inside the store. As Eric was looking around, he really wasn't seeing what he wanted, though he did like the store, until he noticed an aisle where there were all kinds of stuffed animals. Some played music, some danced and some were just regular stuffed animals. As Eric walked down the aisle, he began to look at each and every animal, until he found the perfect stuffed animal, which played music and he knew that Erica would love that. It was a pink elephant that was soft enough for her to cuddle with and yet let her decide which song she would like to hear, though he was assuming it only played three different lullabies. Eric smiled as he picked up the elephant and went to the cash register to pay for the toy and once he done that, he took the bag that held the pink elephant and left the store, going back to his truck.
After getting back into his truck from getting Erica her special gift, he placed the bag in the seat next to him, along with his cell phone and then he pulled out his keys. He had one more stop to make before he could go home and get ready for his night out with his girls. As he made sure there wasn't any traffic coming, Eric then slowly backed out of his parking space until he was completely out and sitting in the middle of the road. Then he put his truck into drive and began to head once again down the road. He began to hum once more a happy tune as he drove a couple of blocks before coming to a red light just before the jewelry store. As he was sitting at the red light, he began to think about what he wanted to get his beloved Lara, though he had a few ideas. After about ten minutes or so, the light finally turned green, and Eric was soon on his way down the road a little way to the jewelry store, which to his delight had parallel parking in which nobody was parked there for at least the moment, so after pulling up to the first parking space, he shut off his truck and after making sure that there was no traffic coming, he got out of his truck and went inside the jewelry store and went straight for the necklaces, which he looked through case by case until he found what he was looking for. Eric then purchased the necklace and then had them not only place a special photo of him and Erica inside, but their names engraved on the other side. Once all that was done, he had them gift wrapped it, which they did and soon Eric was out of the jewelry store, got into his truck and after placing the gift-wrapped package into the sack with the pink elephant. Once all that was done, Eric started his truck and after letting a couple of cars go by, Eric pulled into traffic and was finally on his way home.
Re: Little House Brings Lots of Love
from Eric_Cartwright on 02/09/2026 05:04 AM"Thank you, my love," Hoss said as he was coming up to a red light as he continued to speak to her. "Hearing you say that just makes my heart sore with happiness and joy," he said as he continued waiting for the light turn green. He knew that he wanted to stop and pick up a couple of things for both Lara and Erica, though he wasn't about to tell her that. But he knew he had better answer her question before she thought that he was going to take them out without showering himself. Finally, with a chuckle in his voice, he began to speak again. "Of course I will, but there's a couple of stops I have to make before I come home," he told her. "Hopefully this light will turn green soon so that I can get to the stores that I need to get too before they close," he told Lara, hoping that he didn't give too much of his plan away to his wife. But he knew that even just saying what he said, Lara would figure out that he was heading to stores to look for something special for her and Erica.
"Anyway, I'll get off here so that you and Princess can get ready and then when I get home, I'll clean myself up in the shower and then we can go," he told her, sound both happy and excited for what he was planning. He knew that Lara was a little on the fence about them going out, but he just brushed that off. Besides, once they got to the restaurant, he knew she would relax and have a great time. "Don't forget baby, that I love you and Erica very much," he told her, knowing that she already knew that, but he loved reminding her. She said they loved him just as much and for him to hurry home. But while he was away, she and Erica would take a nice warm bath and get themselves clean. Hoss said good and soon they hung up from each other. Hoss had just hung up and then sat his phone down next to him, when the red light turned green. Hoss sighed happily and was soon on his way to two stories that he knew would have the things that he wanted to get Lara and Erica. And as he was driving, Hoss couldn't help but hum a happy tune as he continued to drive.
Re: A Cartwright Family Christmas
from Eric_Cartwright on 02/09/2026 04:07 AMHoss didn't say anything as he listened to everything that Lara was asking and telling him. He knew that he was going to get something very special, even if she objected to it. She was worth everything in the world, though most things were still too expensive for him to get her. And even though she had told him that he and his love were all she needed and that made his heart sing with joy, but he knew deeper down inside of him that he wanted to get her something extra special, he just didn't know what yet. And besides, he had a feeling that she was planning to get something for him, which like her, Lara and Erica and their love was all he needed. Once Lara was done speaking, Hoss didn't say anything right away. He brough her hand up to his mouth and softly kissed it several times. Hoss even closed his eyes for a little while as he continued to kiss Lara's hand. Finally, after bout 15 minutes or so, Hoss opened his eyes and looked deep into Lara's eyes as he finally began to speak to her. "Well, my love," he started off.
"I know you don't want me to get you anything for Christmas, but I am. And I won't take no for an answer," he told her sounding very serious, which she knew right then not to argue with him. Then he became even more serious when he answered her question. "I hadn't really thought about it," he told her as he tried not to look like a failure or a sellout. "But I guess maybe that's what they are trying to do because nobody else got a bonus like I did," he said as he went quiet again for a little while. This time Hoss bowed his head as he tried to hide his shame about everything. Lara smiled and got from her chair. She then went over and sat on his lap. She put her arms around him and he did the same. Then he laid his head on her shoulder as he remained silent for a while. Finally, Hoss began to speak to Lara, though she could hear the remorse and the sadness in his voice. "I failed you," he said softly as the tears stung his eyes. "I thought I was getting recognized for all the hard work I was doing. I never thought they were bribing me to keep my mouth shut. I let you and Erica down," he said as he wrapped his arms tighter around her and letting the tears fall while he buried his face into her neck.
Re: Little House Brings Lots of Love
from Eric_Cartwright on 12/31/2025 05:15 AMHoss couldn't help but chuckle as he listened to Lara getting all worked up. And even though he knew she wasn't laughing, he still found it very cute. And yes he knew that the last time he called this early, it was to tell her that he had gotten laid off because he was fighting with another co-worker over some things he said about Lara and Erica. Hoss then cleared his throat and began to speak to her, hoping that what he had to say would help ease her fears. "No babe," Hoss started off, still kind of having that playfulness in his voice. "In fact, it's just the opposite. See, I was doing my work, and of course the other dumbasses that work here with me, when a drunken argument broke out," he began his story. "And as I was taking a break to finish the rest of my lunch, like normal, when the drunken argument turned into a drunken brawl, which consequently brought the big bosses out," he told her as the tone was now sound more excited than anything else.
Before Hoss went on, he reached over for his water bottle and took a couple of big drinks. Once his mouth was moist and yet empty, Hoss went on telling her the good news. "Anyway, the big bosses began to ask what was going on, and so I told them. Then they noticed that I had been the only actually working," he said and then went on speaking before Lara could say anything. "That's when one of them came over to me and told me to take the rest of the day off and even tomorrow," he added, knowing this was the break he needed to spend time with Erica and Lara. Then he finished with the rest of his story. "Anyway, he then went onto tell me that he wanted to see me on Monday in his office, for which he told me that he had big plans for me," Hoss said with a smile as he went on speaking, this time with a plan for him and her and little Erica to celebrate. "Now, before you get upset and start to worry," Hoss told her. "Don't worry, because I have feeling good things are finally going to come our way," he told her. "Now, here's what I want you to do," he told Lara. "I want you to get Erica and yourself all dressed up and when I get home, I'll clean myself up, and then I'm taking my two favorite girls out to dinner," he told her as he waited or her reply.
Re: Little House Brings Lots of Love
from Eric_Cartwright on 12/16/2025 07:59 AMFinally, the boss came over to Hoss and as they were talking, Hoss began to tell him everything. The boss asked if the others were doing their fair share of the work, to which Hoss shook his head no. Hoss also went on to tell the boss that the others had not only been not working but they were also drinking as well, which was partly why they were fighting. Then boss nodded and thanked Hoss and walked back over to the now drunk staff. But then he stopped about halfway and turned to Hoss with a smile and told him to go ahead and take the rest of the day and tomorrow off. The boss also added that when he came back to work, he wanted to see Hoss in his office because there was something he would like to discuss with him. Then the boss turned and walked back to the drunken crew workers as Hoss nodded and smiled.
As the boss began yelling at the drunken crew, Hoss quickly gathered his things and hurried to his truck before his boss changed his mind. Once Hoss had everything and was in his truck, he put things away neatly before pulling out his cell phone. Hoss started his truck and was soon pulling out of the parking lot and onto the highway, still holding his cell phone. Once Hoss got a good way down the road, he found a safe spot to pull off the road, which he then put the truck into park. Once all that was done, he got on his phone and went to his contact. Then he went down until he got to Lara's name and then he hit the green call button. And once that was done, he put the phone to his ear and began to listen to Lara's phone ring, waiting for her to answer.
